Naismith Loop
22 kilometers (mixed gravel and paved)
Park at the Mill of Kintail Conservation Area and soak up some history at the museum before heading out on this ride. You will learn about Robert Tait McKenzie (sculptor, scouter, scholar, athlete, surgeon, soldier and physical educator) and his great friend James Naismith, founder of the game of basketball. New at the Mill this year is the Dr James Naismith Collection. Ride through picturesque farmland and a maple sugar forest en route to the hamlet of Clayton, where a stop at the General Store is a must. Leave a picnic lunch in a cooler at your car to enjoy when you return to the Mill. Here, besides the museum, are nature trails along the Indian River and a wonderful play structure for children.
