Rusty Spoke's Ride 2010

Description: The Rusty Spokes is a Carleton Place-based seniors and ‘almost-seniors’ group who has been riding together once a week since 2002. In recognition of Mississippi Mills Bicycle Month, they have offered to start one of their rides in Almonte. They hope many Mississippi Millers will join them.

This ride is for anyone who can ride a bike – no heroics necessary. It is a leisurely pace, with stops along the way as needed. If you have been considering getting back on your bike, but don’t want to ride alone, this is the ride for you.

The route starts at The Daily Scoop (near the Almonte traffic circle) and continues along Appleton Side Road to the Appleton Dam. After a picnic of snacks and chats, they will continue to the beautiful Rotary Trail, up the Ramsay 8th Concession, to the Rae Road, along Country Street, Bridge Street and side streets to avoid traffic, back to The Daily Scoop. Just in time for lunch!

See you on your bikes!

Sponsored By: The Daily Scoop Cafe

The Daily Scoop Cafe will provide some muffins or breakfast foodies and coffee at a reduced price for the ride

During the month of June, ride your bike to the Scoop and receive a free waffle cone with the purchase of a one scoop.

be interesting at the end of June to tally up the results of the the silver chain challenge and see which community has the most spirited older adult riders :) Go Lanark seniors and near seniors…
