Ride to Ottawa

Discover a new route to Ottawa! Be part of a bike trip to Parliament Hill on June 13, 2009. This excursion has two options:

The 65km BIG CHALLENGE starts at Almonte United Church and proceeds via Appleton Rd., the Millennium Trail and city bike paths to finish at Parliament Hill.
The FAMILY FUN RIDE offers a shorter route along paved pathways from Andrew Haydon Park to Parliament Hill.

Organizers will provide support vehicles, lunch, refreshments and encouragement along the way.Spaces are limited so register early. Your space will be confirmed upon receipt of registration form and payment.

Registration forms can be picked up at Miller’s Tale Book Shop in Almonte or by calling 613-256-5181. Fees prior to May 30, 2009:
BIG CHALLENGE : $30 (individual)
FAMILY FUN: $25 (individual) $40 (family)

In lieu of a registration fee, children 13 and under are asked to collect pledges toward the purchase of a Bicycle Ambulance that will be donated to the Likulezi Project in Malawi, Africa. Sponsor sheets are also available for adults.

GET IN GEAR FOR THE BIKE RIDE! Bring your bike to the TUNE-UP CLINIC in the Almonte United Church parking lot, 106 Elgin Street, June 6, 2009. 9am-1pm, Donations gratefully accepted.

Yes, Peter, it’s on June 13th from the Almonte United Church. You will have to register through the Church. Cost will be $25. We’ll continue to print details here.
