As self-powered transportation becomes more and more popular, we see no end of events for elite practitioners of the sport. During the month of June, these events will roll through town. Maybe this is your year to join in. If not — sit back and enjoy:

Rae Road Triathlon

June 14, line up along Rae Road for the Ladies Triathlon and Duathlon. This is a non-competitive event that raises funds for a good local cause, so cheer them on!  (more details here)

Rideau Lakes Cycle Tour

The Rideau Lakes Cycle Tour, an Ottawa Bicycle Club event with about 1,800 cyclists riding from Ottawa and Perth to Kingston, is so popular it has been fully booked since mid March. Some of the riders can be seen rolling through Almonte along Wolf Grove Rd. They’ll head toward Kingston Saturday, June 6, betwen 8am and 9am and return Sunday, June 7, between 1 and 3 pm (more details here)
