Pedalling the Dempster Highway

Tuesday, March 30th,  7:30 pm
Almonte Legion, corner of Bridge and Farm Streets

The public are invited to listen to Susan Roe and Jane Hamminghe recount their experiences of a 5 day bicycle tour along the Dempster Highway from Whitehorse to Inuvik taken in August 2009. The talk is illustrated by a photographs taken Canada’s
northermost highway, crossing both the transcontinental divide and the Arctic Circle.

All this takes place at the Almonte Legion on Bridge and Farm Streets at 7:30 pm. The evening’s entertainment is sponsored by the Almonte Bicycle Club. Club members will be on hand before and after the presentation to accept membership applications and
hand out information about club activities.

Attendees will also be able to get details of Bicycle Month , hosted by the Town of
Mississippi Mills in June, which this year will feature a series of  CANBIKE courses designed to give people the confidence to ride safely on the road.

For more information, contact Les Humphreys at 256-2498.
