2:00-4:00 View the Appleton community photo contest entries at the Appleton Museum AND  Afternoon Tea at the Appleton Museum (Women’s Institute) *

3:30 Unveiling of bike racks in the park beside the dam

3:45  Kids decorated bike parade: Beginning at the Appleton Playground (boat launch) and ending at the Museum. Lemonade for all! Prizes will be awarded for the best, wackiest and smallest bikes!   Please contact Linda Tranter (257-1680, tranterkafieh@superaje.com) if your family is planning to participate in the bike parade ( Ideas: streamers; lights; ribbons; tin foil; strap things to it; noisemakers; mascots; small animals (not live ones); playing cards in the spokes; spoke cards from other sweet rides; balloons; fake fur; stickers)

Photo judging at the Appleton Museum and announcement of winners

4:30 Baseball or soccer (Appleton baseball and soccer fields, beside the Appleton Museum)

6:00 Community potluck BBQ beside the river, below the dam

9:30-10:00 Fireworks at the dam  **

* Photo contest rules are simple. Any resident, young or old, can enter. The photograph must be bicycle orientated and be taken in the Village.

· Classes are: under 8; under 12; under 18; and adults.

· Submit an 8 x 10 glossy photograph with your name and age on the back to Lee Brebner at 140 Wilson Street by June 26. Note: Walmart 8x10s are less than $3.00.

· Please forward an electronic version of the photograph to lee.brebner@sympatico.ca. This will allow us to post the entrants on the village web site.

· When submitting electronically, state that the photograph may be used for non-commercial purposes.

· Judging will take place at the Community Picnic on June 28.

** Fireworks cost about $400. Some of the costs will be covered by sponsorships from Canadian Hydro Developers and Scott McIntyre law firm. esidents are encouraged to donate. Donations (preferably before Sunday) can be given to Scott McIntyre at 323 River Road or Rick Soudant at 8 Sneddon Drive.
